A quick glimpse of blue in the garden this morning. An Eastern Bluebird (Sialia sialis) came by for a brief drink and a quick, “Hello!” They’re only seen occasionally. Hoping a pair will use one of the houses that are out for them this spring.
Quite the pleasure to see.

We saw a pair here in Bucks County last week. It was the house they used we put up last year, but they must still be checking because we haven’t seen them since. (of course they did their house-hunting last year too!) We have our fingers crossed!
Hi Bev! Super to hear from you! I sure hope that your Bluebirds take up residence in that house you have for them. Isn’t nature wonderful!
So very glad that you read my posts.
Many hugs to you and Lynn.

Brenda, suddenly your photos are showing up again in these posts—thanks!
Hi Grace! I’m so very glad to hear this. I’ve tried and tried and it seemed it wasn’t making any difference. I had been asking Bill all the time, “Did pictures show up in my post on your phone?” Nothing seemed to work. Magic??
Whatever the cause, I’m very pleased to hear that you’re getting the pictures now AND I hope that continues!
So very glad you’re reading my posts <3

Hi Bre. The female bluebird made her nest in our box and then laid 4 eggs over a period of 4 days. She started sitting on the eggs 2 days ago so we should have new hatchlings in about 2 weeks. They’re so much fun to watch as they grow and fledge. Later they visit the box and the parents feed them meal worms. Take care and as always I look forward to your posts.
Hi Diane! Such WONDERFUL to hear about your Bluebirds! Congrats to you!
Thanks for the news.
So glad you read my posts.
