Blueberry Buds

Since autumn they’ve been waiting there at the ends of the branches. Waiting through the chill of winter. Biding time till spring. Now that spring is nearly here the buds are swelling.

Oodles of buds. Blueberry bushes in front of the cabin, in front of the woodshop, in front of the vegetable garden.

With just a bit of time there will be blossoms that will in turn become luscious berries.

And those berries will become pies, pancakes, muffins, toppings for cereal, sundaes, countless forms to delight.

  1. Sounds delicious 😋. Today Don pointed out that the big bleeding heart in front of his window not only had leaves, it had flowers! Sadly they had not liked the snow. I hope the rest of its buds didn’t get frosted.

    • Oh Jackie! This crazy weather (climate change?). I’m hoping too that the other bleeding heart buds have survived. What a beautiful flower they are!

Best to you and Don. And thanks bunches for reading my posts.
