Fibonacci Sequence
A Confusing Bumblebee (Bombus perplexus) wanders on an Echinacea (Echinacea purpurea) collecting pollen. In my wild imagination though, I am thinking it is examining the Fabinacci spiral arrangement of those cone florets. Purple Coneflower
Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea). Native to central to southeastern United States. Pollinators love the flowers. Leave the seedheads over the winter for Goldfinches who will gather for a snack of seeds. And then for the math/nature nut there is the Fibonacci spiral of the disk florets that become those seeds.

What a weekend. It’s been quite dry but I know to be careful what I wish for. Friday evening brought a storm with high winds, lightning and thunder happening nearly at the same time, and the rain. A decent amount of rain but it came down in just 10 or 15 minutes. Much too quickly.…
