Circuition

This afternoon at my little pond. Wood Frog tadpoles (Lithobates sylvaticus) getting their nourishment from a cluster of Salamander eggs. The tadpoles are for the most part herbivorous, eating algae, and decaying plants, but occasionally eating the eggs of other amphibians. What a surprise to discover. I had no idea they would eat other amphibian eggs. Nature surprises me everyday.

    • Hahaha! That was my reaction too, Brigitte! I had no idea this would happen. I guess over the years I’ve just not paid that much attention. I guess that this is part of “the circle of life” and just part of nature’s ways. And it is fascinating!

Thank bunches for reading my posts! I’m enjoying hearing from you.
