Chipping Sparrow (Spizella passerina) with its copper colored cap, just a tiny bit smaller than a Song Sparrow, and just a tiny bit larger than a Chickadee.
Male and female look alike. A delightful summer resident.

copper coloured cap, perfectly captures the chroma. I always ID the chipper mostly from this feature but the idea of copper colored, however valid, was not, until this moment, part of my vocabulary. Not trying to be stereotypic but, as far as colors and several other fine details of identification are concerned, Women Rule the day. always a pleasure to see your Tendrils
Ah Ken!! You so often bring a bit of frivolity to my blog comments! I don’t know about other women, but being a bit of an artist, I thoroughly enjoy the world of color. Bringing out matching tea towels in the kitchen and such. Hope you are enjoying the weather now that it has become a bit of pleasantness now. And NOW, if only it would rain, rain, RAIN!
So very glad you read my posts!!
