This is the Colorado Blue Spruce (Picea pungens) between my studio and the wood shop, with 9 inches of snow dumped on it. Lovely isn’t it?! It’s a COLOR photo BTW, and this is what I refer to often — the black and white landscape of winter. I love it! This image was taken on Monday. And now, Thursday night, it is beginning to snow again. I’m ecstatic to say the least.

The snow is glorious! So glad you are enjoying it as much as I am………………….
Wow, I guess I’d forgotten how dark winter looks. I would have never thought
this was a color photo. True, there is something mystical about a fresh white
snowfall. I still prefer my sunshine and warm temps.
Yes, beautiful, but deadly. with trees torn apart and shrubs shattered by weight and wind. I’ll take dry snow any day, but this wet stuff, though nice to look at initially, pushes the belief of “Nature’s natural pruning”. Most of the damage is to living, healthy vegetation, not dead and needing pruning.
As you can tell, I did not enjoy this snow, partly because I will be working at least a week with the chain saw and I never had a chance to get out my cross-country skis. 🙂
It is a beautiful bear with many arms and many fingers !
Didn’t you see that ?
Alfred, I had to go back and look again. Sure enough, definite head, eyes, lots of arms and fingers with white mittens.
