Today’s discovery: rhubarb is up in the garden!
In what will seem like the blink of an eye, there will be lots to work with. Between what the garden produces and what I can find at the Greene Farmers Market, I’ll have plenty.
I’ll have plenty to chop into pieces and put into the freezer.
I’ll have plenty to make into custard rhubarb pie or rhubarb sauce. Mmm! Rhubarb sauce to have by itself or with vanilla ice cream. Maybe homemade vanilla ice cream. Oh MY! I’m ready for it now!

What wonderful news that your rhubarb is coming up! Rhubarb custard pie is one of my specialties too, and it will be glorious to have rhubarb in the freezer for when you “need” it!
Ooh, Bren……..

Y U M!!!
Checked mine right after VA’s 2nd winter, some leaf damage but all in all everything looks fine. I think that I’ll try a thicker mulch next season.
Does your rhubarb produce all season?
Slows down over the summer but I get spring-like growth in the fall.
Of course after saying this it won’t happen this year.
We always had a rhubarb patch when I was growing up. My mom made it into sauce and we ate it all yr long. One of my favorites.
