Back in October I did a post about a Giant Puffball (Calvatia gigantea). Today while out roaming about I came upon that same Puffball. Very old, looking like a ball broken open and filled with powdered cocoa. I had wondered what happened to it. Apparently not much. Just a great change in its color. From a lovely white to cocoa.

Hi Barbara! So WONDERFUL to hear from you. I’ve been thinking of you, intending to drop you a line, but of course not getting around to it. I hear via our precious Kumud that you have had a hard time recently. I am hoping you are well on your way to being on the mend.
I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the snow we had a week ago yesterday, along with the frigid temperatures that have managed to keep the snow from melting. If it’s not obvious, I love winter!
