The Mountain Road

The road that gets me from up here, to the bottom of the mountain. Sure is a good thing that VDOT is such a conscientious bunch. They take good care of this byway, and me.

  1. Dear Brenda,
My address is 4100 Belk Mill Road Wingate, NC 28174
I live in the piedmont area just north of the S Carolina line. I’m very happy in my woods. I’d love to know your address so I can place you on my map of friends. I like following comments about weather, birds and trees for knowledge of where I am in the world. Promise not to show up for tea. If your ever by my home, you are welcome to call and visit.
I’ve been here 2.5 years after 50 years in the west and I love being by my family (5 sisters) on the East Coast again. It was good to see you at the reunion and I am in contact with many of my classmates. I still have my California cell so you can call 619-807-1956 if you are ever in the area. Have happy days, Theresa(Terry Bradley) Bennett

    • Terry! Terrific to hear from you. I’ve just written out my mailing address and my physical address in a note to you that I’ll drop off at the post office tomorrow morning after yoga. If you’re in the woods, you have to have a lovely location!

50 years in the west? Welcome back home.

Thanks for reading my posts. Hugs.
      Bren

  2. Brenda, what elevation is your cabin? we had snowfalls on Wedneday last week and yesterday, each about 2″ on grass, leaves, and trees. Above 3600 feet in Garrett County yesterday they had 3-4″. Our house is at about 2500 feet. Just curious.

    • Hi Bill,

My cabin is at 1800 feet, and I have to tell you something funny about that elevation. When my husband (who is from Hobbs, New Mexico) bought the first chunk of the mountain here, we called his parents – we were so very pleased with ourselves. Hobbs is in the high plains of New Mexico and the elevation of the town is 3600 feet – total desert – no mountains around anywhere, just flat, flat, flat. His parents were NOT impressed with our elevation!

Oh I wish I had gotten that snow as well. Maybe, MAYBE, later this winter??!!

Thanks bunches for reading my posts!
