Tiny Iris

Such a pretty flower but quite small. Reaching just 3 to 6 inches tall. Dwarf Crested Iris (Iris cristata).

There are 28 Iris species native to the United States. Iris cristata is one of them, found growing in the eastern and southern United States, on rocky, wooded slopes. Some are blooming right now in one of my gardens.

  1. Hi Brenda! Iris cristata is gorgeous and a wonderful spreading ground cover plant. We planted some and every year they spread further down a little slope.

  2. Hi Ann!

The Dwarf Crested Iris are relatively new (just a couple years) to my garden and I’m thoroughly enjoying having them. I’m really looking forward to them spreading their happy attitude!

Thanks bunches for reading my posts, and writing back to me. I enjoy “chatting” with you!
