White Feather Tips

A female Ruby-throated Hummingbird (Archilochus colubris) at the feeder.

On rare occasions the camera’s shutter clicks at just the perfect moment.

  1. That is a fantastic shot! You’re a great photographer. It feels like fall is trying to creep in here in the north Georgia mountains. How about your place?

    • Hi Diane! Thanks bunches for your compliments. I come from an art background and taking photographs is so much more easy than sitting, doing a painting, although I sure love doing that as well.

Autumn is approaching though not in its usual way. We had a week or so of beautiful, pleasant weather with very low humidity. Today that humidity has returned along with warmer temperatures. It reminds me of going back to school with new clothes, but those new clothes were purchased with autumn and winter in mind. Nothing new for hot days!

Now you have me curious about where it is you live. North Georgia in the mountains. North of Atlanta?

So glad you get my posts! <3

  2. Wow! Your photography skills are just amazing! Hummingbirds move quickly and I don’t know how you caught this shot.
Your butterflies and moths have also been fantastic. I’m so glad I get your blog every day!

    • Hi Mary! So nice to hear from you. Thanks for the wonderful compliments. I love taking pictures, after all doing that is so much more easy than doing a painting. Often I’m using my photos as a sort of journal as I go about my day, hiking up the mountain or just finding surprises in my gardens.

Hope your precious family is doing well. We’re thoroughly enjoying having Kevin, Andrea, and Lydia just an hour south of us in Batesville.

I’m so very pleased that you continue to get my posts!!!
      Sending many hugs
